After its start-up in 2018, DESIR will get beams from SPIRAL1 and S3. At a later stage, beams from the SPIRAL2 Production Building are also expected.
The SPIRAL1 beams will be created by means of projectile or target fragmentation and ionised by a 1+ source. A file with expected beam intensities can be found here.
Beams will be produced by S3 by fusion-evaporation reactions. The residues will be separated by the S3 spectrometer-separator and slowed down in the low-energy branch of S3. From there, the beams can be sent to DESIR. Preliminary intensity estimates can be found here.
